Roots of Evil

About four months when I was driving along a freeway, I caught in my peripheral vision, a creepy, leafless tree among just the opposite: trees filled with leaves. Given the decayed look of this tree among trees of life, I thought of it as a tree of death, and imagined how interesting (and shocking!) it would be if the tree formed a skull. Hence, the motivation for this piece, entitled "Roots of Evil". Such a tree might be considered a bad omen, which is what I derived the title of the piece from. This work is the culmination of over two month's worth of effort, most of which was spent painting the limbs and branches. I hope you guys enjoy!
